Making flapjacks with my mom and pouring the syrup in the pan, or pouring condensed milk into my Granddads cup of tea. Jamaicans use ātin milkā in the tea!
Describe your current state of wellbeing (mind, body, mood, health)
Usually Iām tip top and very content and happy. Today, right now, I feel low and there is no real reason why. I think maybe because Iāve been vegan for two weeks? Food is a big mood changer for me.
How do you know when things start to feel out of whack?
I just am a bit blank. My face is so animated and Iām usually smiling, so a blank stare or extreme tiredness is my way of telling Iām not functioning properly.
What are your specific triggers or environments?
Diet, exercise, judgemental people all affect my mood.
What's your go-to craving?
Noodles.
What do you do to curb these cravings when they come?
I donāt. I listen to what my body needs and have it in moderation.
Describe your current mood, today and this month
Today - kinda meh, deflated. slightly anxious. The whole month has been great.
How would you describe your relationship with your moods?
Controlling your emotions is like a superpower to me and I work so hard to attempt to do it all the time. Iām not always successful but I see emotions as just chemicals flowing around the brain, and like anything else, I can try and manage it.
If you're feeling low how do you pull yourself out of it?
Iām thinking right now what I can doā¦. 1. Call a friend but Amy is not picking up. 2. Sleep. 3. Read because I get lost in books. 4. Get a beauty treatment like a facial or something else where a human is connecting with me. 5. Treat myself to a meal that reminds me of a holiday. 6. Listen to music.
What would your famous last words be?
Why wait?
